6. Mango Bay - Barbados -2001

Our Base for our stay in Barbados was the Mango Bay hotel on the Western side of the Island in Holetown. After checking in we had lunch and met Paul and Norma from Worcester. In the evening we strolled over to Ragamuffins to watch a drag show.

We decided to hire a taxi for a half day tour of the island. Our driver, Vaughan took us firstly to Gun Hill which has great views of the island. We moved on to St John's church and the rugged coast of Bathsheba, Cattle wash and an area called Scotland.

The following day we went into Bridgetown, Rob and Paul went to watch the cricket at Kensington oval and the girls went shopping.

The next day we caught the local bus into Bridgetown, hopped in a cab and went to the Garrison Savanah racecourse. We spent a lovely afternoon at the races and Mandy managed to pick out a couple of winners.

On the Sunday we packed our cases expecting to leave in the afternoon but we were informed by the Thomson's rep that our flight had be delayed and that we would have to stay an extra night.
